The position oversees strategic development of Beautify SJ operations including budget and program development interagency agreements and managingacomplex service delivery system. TheBeautifySJDivision Manager is also responsible for providing leadership in advancing division and/or department-wide initiatives and the division responsibilities in the Deputy Directors absence. This Division Manager has an operating budget of approximately $42 million. This Division Manager has up to4direct reports consistingofProgram Managers. TheBeautifySJDivision Manager willbe responsible forthe identification and coordination of resources to respond and address ongoing blight and the impacts of homeless encampments. TheParks Recreation and Neighborhood Services Departmentis currently seeking to fillone (1)full-timeDivision Managervacancyin theCommunity Services Division. Essential Duties for this position may include but are not limited to the following: - Supervisessubordinatemanagement supervisory and professional staff to include prioritizing and assigning work;conducting performance evaluation staff development; and making hiring termination and disciplinary recommendations. -Plansimplementsand evaluates departmentprograms and services. - Participates in and adviseson the development of department and program policy. - Prepares andimplementsdivision work plans capital improvement and/or operations budgets. - Develops and implements divisiongoalsobjectives and guidelines. - Presents reports and information to the City Council boards committees commissions and other divisions or departments. - Ensures divisional compliance with federal and state laws rules regulations local codes and standards. - Performs other duties as assigned of a similar nature or level.
Education:Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with a major in public administration business administration or a related field.
