- Biologist DCL-A Shooting Range Enhancement Coordinator
LDWF supports a strong work ethic in its employees and incorporates the use of good science accurate information and technology. The Office of Wildlife exists to provide wise stewardship of Louisianas wildlife and associated habitats and increase wildlife conservation awareness.
The Biologist DCL-A will manage and deliver the Shooting Range grant development program Statewide.The incumbent serves as the departments expert and advisor to agency staff and the public regarding shooting range development and operations. Wildlife conservation programs of the department are largely funded by recreational shooters and hunters. Providing additional recreational shooting opportunities through the development of new shooting ranges and expansion of existing shooting ranges promotes the user pays user benefits North American Model of Conservation. Minimum Qualifications
A bachelors degree in a biological science marine science environmental science wildlife or fisheries animal science forestry or natural resources plus four years of experience in wildlife or fisheries forestry or environmental science; OR
A non-thesis masters degree in a biological science marine science environmental science wildlife or fisheries animal science forestry or natural resources plus three years of the required specialized experience; OR
A masters degree with a completed thesis or a doctorate in a biological science marine science environmental science wildlife or fisheries animal science forestry or natural resources plus two years of the required specialized experience.
Supplemental Qualifications:
Four years of experience in hunter or wildlife education shooting sports education or shooting range operations or wildlife policy and/or regulations development.Job Specification

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
This position is responsible for providing public recreational shooting opportunities through the operation and management of the LDWF Target Range grant program by securing and managing federal grant funding in support of this and related programs.
