Job Description

A Day in the Life and the Impact Youll Make:

We are a leading Automotive Test Facility focused on delivering innovative compliant and reliable testing of automotive electronic systems. Our EMC Laboratory is crucial in ensuring products meet rigorous electromagnetic compatibility standards. Were seeking a seasoned professional to lead our labs technical operations and mentor a high-performing team.

This EMC Technical Lead Engineer role balances hands-on technical workoverseeing EMC test execution troubleshooting and compliancewith supporting a team maintaining/improving lab capabilities documentation and process improvement. Its ideal for an EMC expert eager to shape lab direction mentor others and ensure industry-leading compliance standards are met.

What Youll Do:

  • Contribute to a safe and healthy work environment by actively participating taking responsibility and following established procedures and policies.
  • Implementation of EMC/EMI test plans setups and procedures aligned with OEM and regulatory standards.
  • Perform advanced EMI/RFI troubleshooting and noisemitigation on systems and subassemblies.
  • Review technical documentationtest plans final reports test summaries and updatesfor internal and external stakeholders
  • Mentor and train lab engineers and technicians fostering technical growth and efficiency.
  • Drive continuous lab improvements: implement process enhancements optimize throughput improve data quality and maintain rigorous test data integrity.
  • Occasionally represent the lab at external agencies customer sites standards committees or vendor meetings.

What Youll Bring:

  • Bachelors (or minimum 15 years experience) degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related field
  • 710 years of practical experience in EMC testing including hands-on lab work and troubleshooting
  • Deep knowledge of EMC standards and regulations: GM 3097 FMC 1278CISPR IEC 61000 and ECE Reg 10.
  • Strong technical proficiency with EMC test equipment and software tools (Nexio-BatEMC CANalyzer CANoe Dewesoft/DAQ software).
  • Technical skills with EMC test instrumentation: EMI receivers network analyzers equipment integration to include multiple monitoring methods and tools.
  • Demonstrated mentorship of Engineers and Technicians developing a strong technical foundation.
  • Excellent communication documentation and presentation abilities.

Physical Considerations:

  • May require lifting up-to 50 pounds standing for extended periods working in confined spaces and climbing a ladder.
  • Ability to move and conduct work with full range of motion.
  • Extended periods of computer-based work
  • Extended periods of standing

Travel Considerations:

  • Anticipated travel is less than 10%

Compensation:

DEKRA North Americas compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $74900 annually in our lowest geographic market up to $110900 annually in our highest geographic market. Actual pay is based on several factors including market location and position-related knowledge.
