The Domestic Violence Division of the Anchorage Trial Court is accepting applications for a Court Case Manager 1 (salary range 10). Under direct supervision of the DV supervisor the incumbent will assist customers and process filings.


*Employees transferring from another State of Alaska agency may receive consideration for an advance step placement.

**Employees working in this job classification will promote to salary range 11 after successful completion of three years of service with the court.


What will you be doing

Review and accept filings for all Domestic Violence Stalking and Sexual Assault cases in person and electronically open new case files and research indexes to identify DV and Criminal Assault cases that parties have had and any open Domestic Relations case that involves Petitioner and Respondent for purposes of judicial reassignment.


Additionally you will assist the general public attorneys state agencies and court system staff with copy requests and supply other resources. Process files that have been ruled on by a judicial officer and do all data entry and necessary tasks including distributing orders and hearing notices. Frequently review the DV electronic mailbox and work on department emails.

Occasional duties include replenishing the forms supply as needed monitoring office supplies for ordering and cleaning files to be microfilmed in compliance with the retention schedule. There may also be an occasional need to perform duties of an in-court clerk including opening court operating recording equipment and writing log notes.

The Work Hours
Full-time court employees are currently scheduled to work 37.5 hours per week. The work hours for this position are Monday - Friday 10:00 a.m. 6:30 p.m. with a one-hour lunch once training has been completed. During training work hours will be Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. with a one-hour lunch. At this time you will be put into a rotation to assist with weekend/evening coverage as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from high school or completion of a General Education Development (GED) certificate AND one year of office clerical experience.

Substitution:

Additional office clerical work experience will substitute for the high school diploma or GED certificate on a month-for-month basis.

Completion of 36 semester credit hours or 48 quarter credit hours of coursework from an accredited college will substitute for the year of required office clerical experience.

Completion of an appropriate vocational training course of study such as legal secretary paralegal or office skills will substitute for the required office clerical experience on a month-for-month basis.
