Job Description

Granby Public Schools is seeking an exceptional and visionary leader to serve as the next Principal of Kelly Lane Primary School beginning in the school year. This is a unique opportunity to lead a thriving inclusive learning community that serves 355 students in prekindergarten through grade two and is deeply committed to student-centered learning social-emotional development and a strong partnership with families.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide instructional leadership that supports high-quality teaching curriculum alignment and data-informed decision-making.
  • Foster a safe inclusive and developmentally appropriate learning environment for PreKGrade 2 students.
  • Lead support and evaluate certified and non-certified staff in alignment with district goals and educator evaluation guidelines.
  • Promote strong family and community partnerships through clear communication outreach and engagement.
  • Collaborate with district and building-level staff to implement strategic initiatives that support equity academic growth and student well-being.
  • Oversee daily school operations including scheduling resource management and adherence to district and state policies.
  • Cultivate a positive school climate rooted in kindness respect and high expectations for all learners including students in specialized programming
  • Serve as a visible supportive presence throughout the school modeling professionalism empathy and instructional expertise.
  • Lead school improvement planning and continuous professional learning aligned with district priorities.

Key Qualifications:

  • Connecticut Intermediate Administration or Supervision Certificate (092) required
  • Strong instructional leadership with a focus on equity and inclusive practices
  • Proven experience (3-5 years) as a school leader preferably in early childhood or elementary settings
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Commitment to fostering a safe joyful and engaging school culture

The salary range is $154906 - $183055 based on the Granby Association of School Administrators contract.
