Job Description
Job Summary/Purpose: The Executive Director of Nursing for MUSC Kershaw Medical Center reports directly to the Division CNO is responsible and accountable for direct oversight planning and coordination of MUSC Kershaw operations direct oversight of the facilities budget and workforce and other duties as assigned. This includes major projects operational improvement initiatives and collaborating with other executive and leaders to enhance the overall performance of the organization.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Leadership:
Operational oversight management and cultivation of environmental nutritional therapeutic services safety and security guest and patient services emergency management nursing services and patient flow functions as well as primary operational liaison between clinical and ancillary service lines that impact facility.
Represents the MUSC Kershaw in work groups and committees as requested.
Provides hands-on leadership and operational improvement subject matter expertise for MUSC Kershaw Medical Center.
Develops and maintains strong relationships with organizational peers ELC/Team SC members and MUSC Health ICCE department leadership.
Ensures alignment to divisional and system operational plans to strategic priorities
Responsible for selecting developing and deploying staff in the most effective manner to meet assigned objectives.
Demonstrates high influence motivates and pushes others to succeed in the organizations vision mission and goals.
Leads MUSC Kershaw monthly board meetings in collaboration with Kershaw Division ELC.
Instills a culture of continual real-time feedback that integrates with professional development framework.
Strategy/Financial:
Responsible for identifying resource needs and obtaining appropriate funding/approvals.
In collaboration with senior leaders strategy and other departments within MUSC Health assist with projects and initiatives to further the strategic mission and goals of MUSC Health. Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of MUSC Health strategy and communicates and guide teams to meet the overall strategic intent.
Prepares facility budget and reviews monthly for areas for improvement. Understands flex budgeting principles and adjusts as needed supported by volume. Proficient in forecasting and adjust budget as needed.
Assists in the development of business plans Pro Formas and budgets that impact MUSC Kershaw in conjunction with other project teams and works collaboratively with stakeholders
Communication/Collaboration:
Creates an inclusive environment that supports and promotes creative problem solving.
Ability to build and manage diverse teams to deliver expected outcomes.
Interacts with varying levels of leaders demonstrating strong negotiation and facilitation skills and a proven ability to consult with executive levels of management. Can serve in an advisory capacity to executive level management and stakeholders on significant matters.
Demonstrates an advanced ability to work in a complex-cross-functional environment.
Collaborates with other departments/functional groups/leaders to engage additional resources and subject matter experts to complete projects and initiatives.
Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree in healthcare or business management required. Masters degree preferred
9 years progressive work experience and 4 years management experience
Required Licensure Certifications Registrations:
SC RN License
