Job Duties:

Reporting to the Chief of Staff act as an administrative assistant to the Head Coach and the Chief of Staff. Coordinate the efforts of the Head Coach and Chief of Staff with various major department functions and initiatives. Manage special projects for the Head Coach and Chief of Staff; prepare correspondence for staff and coaches oversee calendars and schedule for the Head Coach and Chief of Staff; and serve as point of contact for internal and external constituents.

Additional responsibilities include providing administrative support to the football coaching staff and Director of Football Operations in the areas of travel expense accounts expense reports recruiting logs and correspondence. A working knowledge of State University NCAA and B1G rules and regulations is required to successfully fulfill the obligations of this job.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Serves on committees and attends meetings representing the interests of the unit or program
  • Implements and executes established policies and procedures for a designated work unit to adhere to unit objectives and to align with established strategies
  • Analyzes data and trends compiles progress reports and provides appropriate recommendations or conclusions in support of the assigned operational work unit(s)
  • Schedules logistics and secures resources for a designated work unit to contribute to the day-to-day operational success
  • Assists recommends and advises staff on unit or program administrative issues personnel matters and budgetary problems

Compensation:

Salary is determined based on qualifications with a minimum starting salary of $55000.

Required Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of NCAA and B1G rules and regulations
  • Effective decision-making skills
  • The ability to identify and develop alternative courses of action
  • Knowledge of public relations and interpersonal relationship skills
  • Knowledge of office management practices and procedures
  • Knowledge of reimbursement and expense account processes and procedures
  • Organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks and details efficiently often with numerous interruptions
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Project management methods
  • The work environment requires that the incumbent communicate courteously following customer service standards with customers and co-workers under stressful circumstances. The work must be performed within time constraints meeting delivery schedules and internal deadlines
  • Physical ability to type at a keyboard and use a computer terminal for up to two hours at a time several times a day.

Education:

Bachelors degree preferred

Conditions of Appointment: This is a 100% Academic Staff appointment. Salary will be assigned within the appropriate range commensurate with the candidates qualifications and experience.
