Overview
Nurse Practitioner Psychiatric Knoxville Clinic
Full Time 80 hours per pay period Day shift

Additionally Peninsula offers care specifically designed for seniors with co-existing psychiatric and medical conditions at the Senior Behavioral Center located atParkwest Medical Center. Knoxville Clinic:
This clinic is located at 1451 Dowell Springs Blvd in Knoxville Tennessee and is open Monday-Friday from 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. We provide mental health services for those experiencing psychiatric illnesses or symptoms. Our team of mental health professionals provide:
- Psychiatry
- Intensive Outpatient Program
- Office based Opioid Treatment
- Psychiatric Rehabilitation
- Group individual and family therapy
- Care Coordination
- Support Groups
- Medication management
- Assessment and referral services
Position Summary:
Provides mental health services to patients under the supervision of a physician following established medical protocols. Provides follow-up psychiatric care and medication management to assigned patients.

Responsibilities
- Maintains established departmental policies and procedures objectives quality assurance program and safety standards. Participates on process improvement teams.
- Provides direct patient care evaluates outcomes consults with other specialists as required and adjusts processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
- Collaborates with supervising physician to formulate and review medical protocols and review care of assigned patients.
- Obtains complete medical and psychiatric history of the patient.
- Identifies health hazards in the patients environment as well as patient risk factors. Identifies and considers the cultural patterns economic status and patient resources in plan of care.
- Monitors and adjusts medication for patients assigned to practitioner.
- Orders appropriate laboratory test pertaining to treatment drug levels.
- Analyzes objective and subjective data for appropriate diagnosis and treatment.
- Assures treatment and/or plan of care is consistent with established protocols.
- Monitors and ensures accuracy of recording on patient medical records and maintains all required reports records statistics etc. Documents all pertinent information accurately legibly and in a timely manner.
- Refers patient to appropriate services which exceed scope of practice of the Nurse Practitioner.
- Provide health promotion counseling and develop patient teaching information.
- Serves as a resource person for other staff personnel. May supervise clinical staff.
- Maintains professional growth and development through seminars workshops and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
- Attends meetings as required and participates on committees as directed.
- Follows policies procedures and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
Master of Science in Nursing.
Minimum Experience:
One (1) experience preferred.
Licensure Requirements:
Must have and maintain certification by American Nurses Association or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners as an Advanced Practice Nurse/Nurse Practitioner. Must meet the states requirements as an Advanced Practice Nurse/ Nurse Practitioner. CPR required.
