THE POSITION: The Director Procurement and Planningis responsible for developing and leading a comprehensive global sourcing strategy that drives cost efficiencies and margin improvement optimizes supplier relationships mitigates risks and enhances value across the entire supply chain. As a senior leader this role will influence long-term procurement strategies partner with executive leadership to align sourcing efforts with business objectives financial goals operational efficiency targets and long-term value creation for investors helping ensure the companys competitiveness in the marketplace. With an expert Understanding of market dynamics supplier ecosystems and procurement best practices the Strategic Sourcing Director will lead initiatives that directly impact the companys financial and operational performance while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strategic Leadership:
    • Develop and execute a global sourcing strategy aligned with the companys long-term goals and operational efficiency targets driving cost efficiency risk mitigation and long-term value creation for the company and investors
    • Lead cross-functional efforts to ensure that procurement strategies align with organizational objectives and growth initiatives including new product development sustainability goals and market expansion
  • Supplier Relationship Management:
    • Establish and nurture strategic partnerships with key global suppliers ensuring optimal performance innovation and value delivery
    • Act as the senior escalation point for supplier issues ensuring timely resolution and maintaining strong relationships
  • Negotiation & Contract Leadership:
    • Lead high-stakes supplier negotiations to secure favorable terms achieve cost-saving targets and ensure compliance with legal and business requirements
    • Oversee the governance of all supplier agreements including MSAs LTAs SLAs and Purchasing Agreements ensuring alignment with business needs and risk management
  • Risk Management & Compliance:
    • Develop and implement supplier risk management strategies including supply chain contingency plans compliance with regulations and risk mitigation frameworks to ensure business continuity
    • Lead due diligence efforts to monitor supplier financial health ethical compliance and performance metrics
  • Continuous Improvement & Innovation:
    • Champion continuous improvement programs across the sourcing function driving innovation sustainability and operational excellence in collaboration with suppliers
    • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance sourcing efficiencies supplier performance and cost savings
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Partner with key internal stakeholders (including produce engineering product development operations finance and legal) to align sourcing strategies with product innovation operational goals and financial targets
    • Provide strategic input to senior leadership on sourcing decisions market trends and emerging risks
  • Market Intelligence & Analysis:
    • Conduct advanced market and supplier analysis to stay ahead of industry trends technological advancements and geopolitical risks affecting the supply chain
    • Use data-driven insights to inform sourcing strategies drive category management initiatives and improve decision-making
  • Team Leadership & Development:
    • Lead and develop a high-performing sourcing team fostering a culture of accountability collaboration and professional growth
    • Build a talent pipeline by mentoring and coaching sourcing professionals ensuring the team is equipped to meet evolving business needs
  • Reporting & Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Prepare and present comprehensive reports and recommendations on sourcing performance risks and opportunities to senior management and the board of directors
    • Represent the company at external industry forums conferences and supplier events to enhance organizational visibility and build strategic networks
  • Systems & Technology:
    • Drive the adoption of procurement technologies and tools to enhance strategic sourcing processes data visibility and decision-making capabilities
    • Collaborate with IT and procurement teams to ensure the effective integration of sourcing systems across the supply chain
  • Compliance & Governance:
    • Ensure adherence to company policies procurement guidelines and relevant legal requirements while fostering a culture of ethical sourcing and corporate responsibilities

It includes analyzing market dynamics identifying opportunities for supplier consolidation and leveraging negotiation tactics to achieve favorable terms and conditions
  • SUPPLIER RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT: Ability to effectively manage relationships with key suppliers to optimize value mitigate risks and drive continuous improvement. It encompasses developing collaborative partnerships fostering open communication and aligning supplier capabilities with organizational goals to achieve mutual success
  • NEGOTIATION: Ability to effectively communicate persuade and reach mutually beneficial agreements with suppliers. It encompasses strategic planning active listening and problem-solving skills to achieve optimal outcomes in contract terms pricing and service levels

DIRECT BUSINESS IMPACT:

  • Cost Reduction and Margin Improvement: Drive 5% annual cost savings across the supply chain by optimizing procurement practices securing more favorable supplier contracts and leveraging strategic sourcing initiatives. The focus will be on improving procurement efficiency reducing purchase prices and driving economies of scale. These efforts will have a direct and measurable impact on EBITDA and margin growth enhancing profitability
  • Supply Chain Risk Mitigation and Resilience: Develop and implement a supplier risk management framework that covers the top 80% of spend and critical suppliers ensuring supply continuity and protecting against market volatility geopolitical risks and supplier financial instability. This framework will incorporate risk assessments contingency planning and real-time performance monitoring. The goal is to enhance operational resilience minimize downtime and maintain consistent supply thereby improving overall business continuity and customer satisfaction
  • Supplier Performance and Innovation: Establish a supplier performance improvement program targeting the top 20% of strategic suppliers. This will include initiatives to drive supplier-led innovation enhance quality and streamline collaboration. The program will focus on improving key supplier KPIs (e.g. lead time quality and on-time delivery) while fostering innovation that enhances product development and differentiation. These improvements will directly influence operational efficiency and support long-term growth objective.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Bachelors degree.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Strategic Sourcing and/or Procurement.
  • Proficiency in problem-solving and decision-making techniques with a strong understanding of contracting and negotiating principles.
  • Knowledgeable in the sourcing process - able to leverage experience and knowledge from previous projects.
  • Thorough understanding of Total Cost of Ownership analytics and drivers.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with constant deadlines and deliverables.
  • Computer literacy with a proficiency in computer-based analytical and communication tools (Excel & PowerPoint).
  • Quick learner with interest in understanding and applying supplier best practices.
  • Excellent organization communication and presentation skills.
  • Innovative self-motivated and ability to work with minimal supervision along with strong leadership management and interpersonal skills.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.
