Job Description

POSITION SUMMARYOperate machinery to make power cable and prepare for shipping to customer.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Review documentation / work orders
- Set up machinery / processes in Tower pay off and take up areas (assigned area)
- Operate machinery in assigned area
- Clean and reassemble machinery in assigned area
- Monitor controls materials and processes in assigned area
- Monitor quality of production
- Load / replace materials in assigned area
- Change out product and splice product for continued production
- Repair machinery and prepare components for machines in assigned area
- Coordinate other repairs with maintenance and engineering
- Operate power moving devices change propane cylinders
- Communicate with supervisor
- Direct helpers
- Document processes
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
EDUCATION EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in the wire & cable industry a plus but not required.
- High school degree required.
- Read/use precision gauges and tools.
- Perform shop math.
- Read/follow written instructions.
- Use a computer for simple tasks.
- Strong focus on teamwork
SKILLS AND ABILITIES QUALIFICATIONS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Position requires individuals with proven mechanical aptitude. Must have the ability to:
- Read micrometers and other related precision tools.
- Perform shop arithmetic.
- Read and follow written instructions.
- Communicate effectively to receive and pass on information and instructions.
- Trouble-shoot basic line problems.
- Continuously pay attention to detail.
- Fulfill simple computer tasks.
- Work within a Team structure.
- Perform good conductor welds
