POSITION SUMMARY
The Certified Medical Assistant provides assistance in the examination and treatment of patients under Physician/PhysicianAssistant/NursePractitioner supervisionin the ambulatory service clinical setting.
Duties include: Chart review before patient clinical visit; assisting physician with procedures/treatments; equipment operation; assisting patients in preparation for examination/procedure; performs venipuncture; specimen collection and submission to appropriate laboratory; cleaning and sterilization of instrumentation;order and inventory supplies; records and documents in medical record; maintains examination/procedure room supplies; assists with efficient patient flow; assists with orientation of new staff; and participates in quality assurance programs.
HOURS: Days 40 hours
LOCATION: Suburban Hospital - Occupational Health
EDUCATION
A high school degree or GED equivalent is required. Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant Training Program preferred.
Familiarity with computer based patient appointment scheduling registration systems and Electronic Health Record) strongly preferred.
Medical terminology required.
Familiarity with medication and vaccination administration required.
CERTIFICATIONS
Salary Range: Minimum 18.15/hour - Maximum 26.31/ will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
