Associate Solutions Architect, AWS WWPS Civilian SA - VAR

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a highly motivated Solutions Architect to help accelerate our growing U.S. Federal Civilian Government business supporting Scientific Agencies.

This position will be based out of Arlington VA but other areas such as San Francisco Austin Denver or Raleigh may be considered.

As a Solutions Architect within AWS you will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to advance our customers mission through the use of AWS services (e.g. Amazon EC2 Amazon S3 Amazon RDS HPC etc.) You will accomplish this as part of a cross-functional team working together in support of the FedCiv mission.

Your broad responsibilities will include:
- Owning the technical engagement and technical strategy with our customers.
- Defining implementation architectures responding to RFPs developing a deep expertise both in AWS technologies as well as the customer mission space.
- Being a subject matter expert on security as it relates to customer applications and services.

The Solutions Architects on our team provide exceptional technical design and thought leadership to the Federal Civilian Government markets while working with a sales and business development team. They lead efforts to capture and share best-practice knowledge among the AWS solution architect community. - Bachelors degree or CND (Certified Network Defender) or GSEC (GIAC Security Essentials)
- Experience with one of the following programming languages: Python Ruby C# or C
- Experience with two or more of the following: networking fundamentals security storage or databases (relational or NoSQL) operating systems (Unix Linux or Windows)

- Experience implementing a cloud-based technology solution
- Experience in any of the following: Cloud Architecture Systems Design Software Development Infrastructure Architecture Data Engineering or DevOps
- Degrees in Physics Chemistry Biology Genetics or Geospatial Sciences or experience in Pharmaceuticals Aerospace Life Sciences National Laboratories or Health Research Institutions.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $88400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $192600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
