The Benefits & Leave Specialist will play a key role in administering employee benefits programs and leaves of absence and accommodations. This position will own the end-to-end leave of absence experience including communications & required documentation payment and benefit coordination and compliance with federal state and local statutory requirements. The ideal candidate will bring a strong blend of interpersonal and analytical skills along with in-depth knowledge of leave laws industry practices and emerging trends.

Benefits Responsibilities
- Act as first point-ofcontact for employee benefit related questions and inquiries. Responsible for day-to-day administration of benefit programs such as medical dental vision life disability and 401(k).
- Ensure accuracy between our vendors invoicing benefits administration system and HRIS. Prepare reconciliations for Accounts Payable and follow up with vendors to resolve any discrepancies.
- Support the annual Open Enrollment process including education sessions system configuration updates and responding to employees questions and troubleshooting issues.
Leave of Absence Responsibilities
- Manage administration of LOA ADA and time-off programs and policies including parental leave medical or disability leave military leave or unpaid leave.
- Analyze leave requests and determine employee eligibility and certification for approval or denial. Collaborate with People & Culture Business Partners & Generalists Legal & employees direct manager for escalated and/or complex leave and ADA cases based on relevant information.
- Assist in the development of alternative work arrangements or coordination of coverage with People & Culture Business Partners & Generalists & manager.
- Ensure all medical information is maintained in accordance with HIPAA regulations and privacy guidelines are closely monitored and effectively executed.
- Maintain appropriate contact with all employees on leave and their leaders to coordinate all aspects of return-to-work for employees on leave.
- Conduct audits to ensure plans are working in accordance with company policy and applicable laws.
- Manage Sick Time according to state-specific laws and communicate any changes / updates to the Leadership People & Culture and Payroll teams.
- Partner with third party vendors and cross-functional teams to ensure service levels are being met and processes followed.
Qualifications :
Who you are:
- Bachelors degree in human resources or equivalent years of experience preferred.
- 3 years of experience in benefits administration and leave of absence management.
- Relevant certifications (e.g. Certified Employee Benefit Specialist) are a plus.
- Strong knowledge of federal state and local employment laws particularly FMLA ADA workers compensation laws regulations and best practices.
- Ability to exercise discretion judgment tact and poise in handling highly sensitive and confidential information.
- Detail oriented with the ability to collect and analyze information problem solve with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
- Advanced Excel user and proficiency in using the Microsoft suite of products such as PowerPoint and OneDrive.
- Organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to navigate in a fast-paced & performance-oriented environment.
- Customer service oriented with a commitment to providing timely and exceptional support to employees.

The hourly range for this role is $33.50/hr - $43.25/hr.
