We are seeking a skilled and passionate Occupational Therapist to join our team of professionals working collaboratively to support students fine motor sensory and functional development within educational settings.
Position Overview:
As a School-Based Occupational Therapist you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on students lives by addressing their unique needs enhancing their participation in school activities and helping them achieve their educational goals. The Occupational Therapist will work in 2 private schools for children with various disabilities including but not limited to ASD LD ED ADHD and multiple disabilities.
Your expertise will be crucial in promoting students overall well-being and success in the school environment. We are looking for in-person candidates for the 2025/2026 school year. Part-Time (may go to full-time later in the year)
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations to determine students occupational therapy needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide evidence-based occupational therapy interventions activities and strategies to improve students fine motor skills sensory processing and functional independence.
- Collaborate closely with educators parents and other members of the school-based team to create and implement strategies that support students participation in the classroom and school activities.
- Monitor and document students progress adapting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Provide guidance and education to parents teachers and support staff on strategies to enhance students fine motor skills and sensory regulation.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records including session notes progress reports and billing documentation.
- Stay current with the latest research best practices and techniques in pediatric occupational therapy.
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings team meetings and school-based professional development opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with all federal state and local regulations and ethical standards governing occupational therapy services in schools.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Maryland state licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
- Experience in pediatric or school-based occupational therapy is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with students parents educators and support staff.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage a diverse caseload.
- Dedication to providing culturally competent and student-centered care.
