Hours Per Week: Full Time (36 hours per week)
Schedule:Nights (6pm-6am) rotating weekends and holidays

SUMMARY:

The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for providing direct patient care usually under the direction of a Registered Nurse in accordance with established plans. The Licensed Practical Nurse is a key member of the care delivery team. The Licensed Practical Nurse communicates the needs of the patient and the team; collaborates with the multidisciplinary team takes direction from the RN and delegates appropriately to the other members of the team.

OUR UNIT:

Join our 2 West Medical/Surgical Unit a 37-bed unit that provides comprehensive care for adult patients with a variety of medical and surgical needs. Our unit features a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio ensuring that our nursing staff can provide personalized high-quality care to each patient. While the majority of our patients are adults we also occasionally care for pediatric patients offering a diverse range of clinical experiences.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Patient Care & Service - Promote and restore patients health by completing the nursing process; collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; perform various treatment procedures; provide physical educational and emotional support to patients friends and families; supervise assigned team members.

• Medication Administration & Reporting - Administer medication and give/receive relevant reports both written and verbal from/to appropriate staff as per departmental protocols.

• Documentation - Ensure concise pertinent and complete documentation using computerized medical record process.

• Preparation - Ensure clinical areas are properly supplied and exam rooms are available and stocked.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Graduate from an accredited School of Practical Nursing or equivalent required.

• Current licensure in State of New York as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Strong communication customer service and interpersonal skills highly desired.

PAY RANGE:

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience relevant qualifications specialty internal equity location and contracts.
