Who You Are
Youre a passionate Health & Fitness Specialist committed to helping others achieve their wellness goals and lead healthier lives. With a strong foundation in exercise science nutrition and fitness programming you excel at designing and implementing customized fitness plans that cater to diverse needs and abilities. Youre knowledgeable about the latest fitness trends and training techniques and you bring a motivational approach that empowers clients to reach their full potential safely and effectively.
At KBR youll play an essential role in fostering a culture of health and wellness. Known for your strong interpersonal skills and supportive coaching style you work closely with individuals to assess their fitness levels set achievable goals and track progress. Your dedication to creating inclusive and engaging wellness programs aligns with KBRs mission of enhancing overall well-being and operational readiness.
What Youll Do
In the role of Health and Fitness Specialist your duties will include:
Provides assistance to site personnel and/or eligible dependents with individual health and fitness program development and instruction.
Works with a wellness team to plan and execute a comprehensive wellness program and provide fitness services to the site population.
Instructs safe effective and multi-level group exercise classes to include HIIT Kickboxing Step Yoga Total Strength Boot Camp Zumba Cycling any cardio-type classes such as Hi/Lo Stability Ball stretching/flexibility and abdominal/crunch classes.
Maintains Fitness equipment is in safe and working condition
Maintain multiple fitness centers to include pool basketball courts and fitness center and locker rooms.
Requirements:
Must be a US or Australian citizen
Must have a minimum of three years of experience working in the health and fitness field
Must have experience working with customers at all fitness skill levels and knowledge of principles of exercise physiology and functionality of relevant fitness equipment
Must possess an Active Certificate Level II (or higher) Fitness Australia or certifications from Aerobic and Fitness Association of America (AF AA) American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) American Council on Exercise (ACE) National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist or NSCA Certified Personal Trainer
Must possess a nutritionist certification recognized by an Australian government registered program such as those acknowledged by the Nutritionist Association of Australia or the Nutritionist Society of Australia
This role will be located in Alice Springs at a 4400-acre facility with approximately 687000 square feet of mission and support space. This position is expected to be onsite 100%.
