The Employment Lawyer will provide legal advice and representation under the general direction of the Director of Joint Legal Services (JLS). As a Solicitor you will work collaboratively with a variety of clients colleagues and other stakeholders to provide a comprehensive legal service to the Chief Constable and Police and Crime Commissioner for both Staffordshire and West Midlands Police.
Your primary responsibilities will involve advising on day-to-day employment matters including employee relations issues policies and the implementation thereof restructures defending employment tribunal matters including occasional advocacy liaising with internal and external stakeholders such as Counsel and working collaboratively with the Employment Team by supporting on high profile matters.

Hours:The post holder will be required to work core service hours..
Location: Lloyd House Birmingham.
Vetting: Successful applicants will be required to pass Management Vetting and Security Clearancescrutiny prior to commencing their role this will include a full background & financial disclosure as part of the vetting process.
Medical: Appointment to this role will be dependent upon successfully medical checks which may include a drugs test and if required a fitness test.
