In this role you will:
Oversee daily hazardous biological and special waste activities maintaining communication with relevant stakeholders and conduct industrial hygiene and toxicology programs.
Identify and ensure compliance with federal and state Occupational Safety and Health standards for hazardous workplace conditions.
Participate in OSHA inspections follow-up procedures and contribute to the development and implementation of EHS performance plans.
Manage moderately complex projects develop short-term work plans and apply skills to contribute effectively within the Work Team.
Integrate EHS into daily management identify improvement opportunities collaborate with local safety champions and assist in evaluating new sites projects and equipment.
Investigate safety health ergonomics and organizational environment incidents develop and disseminate EHS communications and maintain fire safety and first aid programs.
Audit site systems and processes implement EHS cultural improvement activities and review identify develop and deliver EHS-related training programs.
(Minimum Requirements)
Applicant must have a bachelors degree with at least 2 years of experience; OR a masters degree with 0 years of experience; OR an associates degree with 6 years of experience; OR a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 8 years of relevant experience
Proficiency in understanding and applying the laws regulations standards and best practices governing health and safety
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Advanced skills in the Microsoft Office Suite
Experience in EHS program development implementation and ongoing management
Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of the recognition evaluation and control of hazards in an industrial environment.
Proficiency at project management and internal customer management.
Success building effective working relationships with departmental leaders such as engineering manufacturing and quality.
Understanding of safety regulatory requirements specifically OSHA/NFPA standards and conducting regulatory compliance audits.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to use mathematics (including basic algebra and statistics).
Ability to gather and organize data from multiple sources.
Ability to plan and implement projects.
(Preferred Requirements)
Knowledge of the technical aspects of EHS programs
Training in ISO14001 or OHSAS 18001
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
Strong leadership and mentoring skills
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Lifting sitting standing walking bending complex data analysis work in high hazard areas.
NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
Some off shift/weekend work as determined by business needs some travel may be required for training or business support <10%.
