As an Engineering Lab Technician you will be responsible for leading engineering lab activities including building test setups gathering materials and performing this role you will contribute to ensuring product quality improving processes supporting research and development efforts and providing accurate data for decision-making.


What Youll Do

• Collaborate closely with engineers to execute design testing on prototypes pilots and other experimental units related to development projects

• Execute testing projects provide ongoing feedback to stakeholders identify functional problems and recommend solutions

• Coordinate calibration and maintenance of test equipment

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable standards (e.g. ANSI IEEE IEC UL series etc.)

• Observe work processes equipment and interactions (Gemba walk) and identify opportunities for improvement

• Implement 5S principles to ensure a clean safe and productive laboratory environment

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineers project managers and stakeholders to achieve project goals

• Develop and Maintain LabView code for the control of equipment and the collection Data during laboratory tests

Skills/Experience Were Looking For

• Excellent project management and organizational skills

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work

• Effective communication skills and the ability to convey technical information clearly

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment

• Experienced with motion control and data acquisition systems

• Familiar with NI hardware including CompactRIO and motion controllers.

• Understands instrument communication protocols (RS-232 TCP/IP)

Required Qualifications

• Associates in Technical Engineering or a related technical field

• 2 years of relevant testing experience

• Experience with all manner of general laboratory equipment (data acquisition multimeter oscilloscope analog and digital meters and similar)
