This Position reports to:

As theElectrical and Software Innovation Lead youll play a key role in shaping the future of our Electrification Installation Products (ELIP) division. Youll lead the charge in identifying new technologies developing breakthrough ideas and turning them into real-world solutions that meet customer needs and drive business growth.

The work model for the role is Hybrid in Memphis TN

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Set the direction: Define and evolve our technology roadmap for electrical and software systems to support next-gen products and explore new markets.
• Spot whats next: Stay on top of emerging technologies and trends to keep us ahead of the curve.
• Solve real problems: Work closely with Product Management and Business Development to focus innovation on high-impact customer challenges.
• Lead creative thinking: Run collaborative workshops and brainstorming sessions to generate fresh practical ideas.
• Build and test: Develop early prototypes to explore and validate new concepts.
• Turn ideas into action: Help integrate promising innovations into our product development pipeline.
• Grow our network: Identify new suppliers and potential acquisition targets to expand our capabilities.
• Mentor and inspire: Support and guide engineers to build a culture of curiosity creativity and continuous learning.

Qualifications:

• A Bachelors Degree (Masters preferred) from an accredited institution in an engineering function mathematics or science discipline or an MBA combined with an engineering bachelors degree.
• At least years 8 years of product experience demonstrating innovative thinking.
• A curious nature to discover solutions for unmet customer needs proposing hypothetical solutions and driving a proof of concept.
• Comfortable working with uncertain grey areas to successfully identify new solutions.
• Aptitude in drawing out diverse perspectives by facilitating group ideation using inquisitive communication and coaching skills.
• Understanding of business case analysis including the relationship between market value cost sales volume and investment.
• Knowledge of intellectual property (IP) processes IP development and IP acquisitions for product value.
• Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.

The Divisions products are engineered to provide ease of installation and perform in demanding and harsh conditions helping to ensure safety and continuous operation for utilities businesses and people around the world.
