2026 Program Information
Duquesne Light Company offers summer internships that provide a hands-on meaningful employment opportunity in a supportive setting that cultivates learning and collaboration. Duquesne Lights internship program will provide you with a valuable experience and a solid start to your career in various disciplines.
- Internships are full-time (40 hours/week) paid and run for 12 weeks (May-August).
- Internships are located in Pittsburgh and follow DLHs Hybrid Work Model (described below).
- Candidates must be full-time degree-seeking students enrolled in an accredited college or university and have completed their Sophomore year of studies.
- Candidates must be in good academic standing.
- Candidates must be willing to work the required schedule as defined in the job description.
- Demonstrated leadership ability through studies employment or extracurricularactivities.
- Aptitude for problem solving; strong communication skills.
Overall Purpose:
Becoming a top-performing utility requires forward thinking the ability to balance risk and strict compliance with ever-changing federal regulations and strong governmental relations which is where the Office of General Counsel (OGC) department comes in.
The OGC leverages the synergies between legal compliance internal audit and enterprise risk management collectively providing corporate services to Duquesne Light Holdings Inc. and its subsidiaries including Duquesne Light Company and OGC also includes the Corporate Secretary function for all Duquesne entities including the governance of the ownership group and the Board of Directors.
The OGC seeksintern(s) for full-time (40 hours/week) positionsfor the Summer 2026 Internshipprogram.
Location: Hybrid (see below) downtown Pittsburgh PA
Education/Experience:
- Education Required: Second year law student at an accredited law school.
- Experience Preferred: Prior business experience.
Skills and Abilities Utilized in this Role Include:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment.

Hybrid Work
Position follows our hybrid work model with a minimum of two days working in the office and the remaining days working remotely. Reporting location and frequency may be subject to change based on job role and department needs.
