Johns Hopkins Care at Home brings health care services to you in the place you are most comfortable: your home. Whether you need home medical care or skilled care home medical equipment to improve your health a medication or just extra help in your daily activities our team provides safe comprehensive care for people of all ages from babies born prematurely to older adults.

Job Summary

We are seeking a licensed Respiratory/HME Liaison to bridge hospital and home care services by facilitating patient transitions distributing medical equipment with proper instruction managing reimbursement processes and leveraging extensive community resource knowledge to ensure continuity of care for patients requiring respiratory and durable medical equipment services.


Education Requirements

  • Associates degree (AA) or Bachelors degree (BS) in Respiratory Therapy required

  • Two years of respiratory-specific education or a closely related field


Required Licensure & Certification

  • Registration by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) as a Registered Respiratory Therapist or Certified Respiratory Technician

  • Licensed by the Maryland State Board of Physician Quality Assurance


Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years clinical experience in hospital or home care setting

  • At least 1 year as a Respiratory Therapist in hospital or home care environment

  • Demonstrated excellence in pulmonary assessment home care planning and problem-solving


Required Knowledge & Skills

  • Thorough understanding of agency policies federal/state regulations and third-party reimbursement for DME

  • Critical thinking and analytical skills for scientific mathematical or technical problem resolution

  • Excellent oral and written communication abilities with empathy in difficult situations

  • Self-directed and confident in unstructured work environments

  • Ability to identify patient needs for DME/respiratory services

  • Sound judgment and excellent organizational skills

  • Comprehensive knowledge of community healthcare resources

Salary Range: Minimum$25.65/hour - Maximum$45.14/ will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
