Join the VIBE Mental Health Capacity Building Program a school-based initiative focused on prevention promotion and early intervention.
POSITION SUMMARY
As part of the Alberta Mental Health Capacity Building (MHCB) Initiative the Wellness Coach works with school staff students families and community agencies to deliver mental health promotion and prevention programming. The Coach supports school-wide wellness builds student resiliency and provides programming aligned with mental health literacy and early intervention strategies.
This role requires strong communication facilitation and organizational skills as well as the ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A Bachelors degree in Psychology Sociology Social Work Education Child and Youth Care Human Services or a related field.
- Experience working with children youth and families in school or community-based settings.
- Knowledge of mental health promotion child and youth development and trauma-informed practice.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with school staff and external agencies.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Competency with basic computer applications and digital tools.
- A valid drivers license reliable vehicle and appropriate insurance are required.
- Current and clear RCMP Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and a Child Intervention Record Check are mandatory at time of interview
POSITION DETAILS
- Location: Based in Vermilion Alberta
- Start Date: As soon as possible upon successful recruitment
- Schedule: Full-time 12-month position (Monday to Friday 37.5 hours/week)
- Compensation: Includes salary benefits and pension. Remuneration is commensurate with education and experience.
