Job Description

Job Title: Adult Psychiatrist

Job Type: Full-time

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality psychiatric care as a Consultant Psychiatrist.
  • Act as the Responsible Clinician for patients ensuring comprehensive assessment and management.
  • Lead and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in a rehabilitation setting applying positive behavioural support principles.
  • Implement evidence-based practices and empower service users in their recovery journey.
  • Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments and formulate effective treatment plans.
  • Mentorship and supervision of junior staff and trainees within the Psychiatry department.
  • Ensure compliance with the Mental Health Act 1983 and other relevant legislation.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and contribute to service improvement.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Medical degree (e.g. MBBS MBChB) from a GMC-approved institution.
  • GMC registration with a license to practice.
  • Completion of Core Psychiatry Training (CT1-CT3) and Higher Specialist Training (ST4-ST6) leading to a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT).

Desired Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a Consultant Psychiatrist.
  • Experience in a similar role providing psychiatric care and rehabilitation.
  • Experience in leading multidisciplinary teams and working collaboratively in a healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with empowering service users and applying principles of positive behavioural support in care.

Salary & Benefits:

  • Salary: 125000 - 160000 annually.
  • Relocation package available for candidates from other parts of the UK or Ireland.
