Job Description
Job Title: Emergency Medicine Clinical Pharmacist
Job Location: Dover DE

Job Description:
- Provides real-time pharmacotherapy recommendations and expertise for a wide range of emergency conditions including trauma cardiac arrest stroke sepsis toxicologic emergencies psychiatric crises and general medical emergencies for all age groups (neonatal pediatric adult
- Proactively reviews and verifies medication orders for appropriateness including dose route frequency indication allergies drug interactions contraindications and patient-specific factors (e.g. organ function weight
- Actively participates in medical emergencies (e.g. code blue trauma activations rapid sequence intubation) at the bedside managing medications preparing IV drips and providing drug information.
- romotes appropriate antimicrobial selection dosing and duration and assists with culture and sensitivity follow-up to optimize antibiotic therapy and reduce resistance.
- Provides expert advice on the management of poisonings and overdoses including antidote selection dosing and administration and ensures adequate antidote stocking.
- Conducts comprehensive medication histories and performs medication reconciliation at transitions of care (admission transfer discharge) to prevent discrepancies and errors.
- Serves as a preceptor and mentor for pharmacy students PGY1 and PGY2 pharmacy residents fostering their development in emergency medicine pharmacy.
