Classification: Municipal Officer Level 3
Agreement: Hobart City Council Enterprise Agreement 2024
Salary range: $91138 to $99635 per annum 13.5% superannuation Commuter Vehicle Mobile Phone.
About the role
This role contributes to the success of the City by a document scope and conduct auditing of the levels of service provided by the Group and Contractors. Enforce the Councils Cleansing and Solid Waste By-Laws and Policies. Take a lead role in administering GIS the provision of Workplace Health and Safety Initiatives coordinate training within the group and support the Program Leader with operational leadership.
Role accountabilities include:
- Provide advice regarding the need for new assets or asset replacement in association with developments or Council works.
- Provide assistance with the coordination of clean ups in abnormal or emergency events (storms etc).
- Inspect reported graffiti and liaison with property owners regarding removal of graffiti in accordance with Council policies.
- Supervision and auditing of public conveniences cleaning and car park contracts.
- Assist and prepare documentation detailing the scope of the various services provided by the Group.
- Auditing in relation to the delivery of cleansing services when required.

About you
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented professional with a strong background in operational planning auditing and service delivery. If you have a passion for safety systems and continuous improvement and thrive in a high-volume community-focused environment. This could be the role for you.
To succeed in this role you will bring:
- Diploma or Certificate in a field related to the delivery of Municipal Cleansing Services. Alternatively a commitment to commence a qualification within 12 months once the full-time role is commenced.
- Current Registration to Work with Vulnerable People.
- Current Driver Licence.
- Expertise in Work Health and Safety principles regulations and Environmental Management Systems
- Strong financial management skills including budgeting cost control and tender preparation
- Proven ability to interpret legislation policies and service agreements
