PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: Up to 33500 depending on relevant skills knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

This role is advertised as part of ourBBC Extend programme for disabled people. We are looking for a driven and passionate journalist to join the Local Story Team in Manchester. Youll be an experienced digital journalist who knows what online audiences expect and can turn around copy under tight deadlines. This job requires someone with a strong news sense that thrives on producing original journalism that can get to the heart of Manchesters diverse communities with a focus on working families and underserved audiences. The role involves shift work including late early and weekend working.
WHY JOIN THE TEAM
You will cover a full range of news stories from across Greater Manchester with a keen focus on finding content that can work across our platforms including online social media and radio. You will be responsible for researching and writing news articles and headlines sourcing pictures and dealing with breaking news.
