Job Description:
Works autonomously to achieve operational targets within specified job area which impacts overall achievement of the department.
Responsible for performing the physical or administrative tasks supporting the shipping receiving storing and distribution of materials parts supplies and equipment rejecting unsatisfactory items where necessary.
Within parameters determines routing and arrangements for shipments considering such factors as nature of items being shipped method of handling size urgency and cost.
Consults rate schedule for specific rates depending on method of shipment and/or distance shipped.
Assesses most economical and efficient common or contract carrier to transport shipments.
Calculates and records storage redelivery and other applicable charges.
May reroute urgent shipments of an urgent nature or arrange for special delivery at destination.
Prepares and maintains records of products shipped and tracks shipments.
Receives incoming materials unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices.
Verifies quantity weight and conformance of materials to stated identifications.
Maintains records of received goods processes freight bills packing sheets and other documents.
Stocks and distributes materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines.
May operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks tow motors forklifts etc. upon receipt of internal certification.
Knowledge of material handling procedures and Environmental Health and Safety requirements.
May perform wood shop functions such as operating power saws and nail guns in building skids and crates.
Communicates with contacts typically within the department on matters that involve obtaining or providing information requiring explanation or interpretation to understand and reach agreement.
Follows established processes to complete verbal and written skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Detailed oriented
Must be able to lift and carry 32 position required to comply with all safety requirements
Must have knowledge of basic Math (add subtract multiply and divide
Requires bending stooping twisting reaching turning and pushing/pulling of heavy parts standing or walking 80% of the time ability to see with or without corrective lenses.
Requires working overtime as needed.
Experience with shop floor control along continuous improvement exposure is preferred.
Must have experience with Shipping: Crating Bill of Ladings packaging materials to be shipped computer skills forklift experience.
Experience in Inventory Control: Cycle Counts pulling job orders stocking materials.
Forklift experience to load and unload trucks
Experience in receiving materials understanding the fundamentals of checking materials verifying counts and able to do inventory transactions.
Able to obtain and maintain a DoD Clearance.
Qualifications:
Requires fully proficient job knowledge/skills typically obtained through a combination of education and experience.
High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of two (2) years of prior inventory/shipping experience.
2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of one (1) year of prior inventory/shipping experience.
Must be a US Citizen.
