Job Description
This position is located in Custer SD. Relocation or commute required.
Custer County is accepting applications for a full-time Maintenance II position with the Building &
Grounds Maintenance Dept. This position reports directly to the Maintenance Director and will
help plan troubleshoot guide lead and carry out all maintenance and janitorial tasks throughout
all Custer County buildings and grounds. This position will at times provide leadership to up
to two other employees.
This position requires applicants to: be a minimum of 18 years old have/maintain a valid SD
Drivers License perform snow removal via shovel and power equipment operate a variety of small to medium equipment operate hand & power tools perform repairs and routine maintenance on all County facilities and department equipment climb ladders perform janitorial cleaning duties obtain a SD Commercial Pesticide Applicators License (categories G & 4) pass a criminal background check work without guidance have leadership skills communicate well be detailed orientated be safety orientated when operating all tools/equipment perform a variety of physical activities & ability to lift 50 the performance job duties.

Competitive wage and benefits. Starting pay is $22.00 per hour and employees are offered paid

police criminal background check to allow access to restricted areas prior to employment and
must be capable of complying with the County drug policy.
