Job Description

Materials Analysis is an Oxford Instruments Business Unit that manages our Electron Microscopy and Mechanical Microscopy products Atomic Force Microscopes Raman Microscopes and Benchtop NMR Products. We are part of the wider Oxford Instruments Group that also includes Andor Technology NanoScience Plasma Technology and X-Ray Technology. With a sixty-year history and fourteen Queens Awards for Enterprise our world-class products and technologies are helping our customers to address the greatest challenges of the 21st century.

We are seeking an Exporter to join our operations team. The primary purpose of this role is to work closely with the Senior exporter and shipping agents OI subsidiaries and other external and internal contacts to ensure customer orders are shipped promptly and correctly.

This role would be ideal for you if

  • You have experience of providing a customer-focused high quality shipping administration service.
  • Youre familiar with export documentation and procedures Letters of Credit and IATA Dangerous Goods regulations and understand the business implications if these are not adhered to.
  • Able to keep on top of changing legislation in the Shipping environment to ensure that we comply with Customs and regulations
  • You understand export documentation and procedures

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure there is open communication between the customer and OI and that the customer is kept up to date and provided with all necessary information to enable successful shipping and receipt of products.
  • Actively explores and finds ways to meet the requirements of the customer and in doing so improves and maintains good customer relations.
  • An excellent knowledge of all Inco Terms
  • To have an updated certificate on dangerous goods shipments
  • Acting as the customers representative within OI. Seeing issues from the customers perspective and representing the customers point of view
  • To make sure all export and NLR letters are confirmed and WMD and products are good to ship to the customer
  • To prepare all required documentation to enable delivery in the UK and worldwide of company products. This will include Invoices packing list EUR1 ATR1 Certificate of Origins Consignment notes and any other documents relating to Letter of Credits or Customs requirements.
  • Support and inform management of any issues impacting customer delivery and satisfaction and suggest and implement solutions and improvements.
  • Letters of Credit shipments and liase with customers and chase payments
  • Update weekly list on credit holds and liase with accounts
