We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Excavation Mate to work on LV projects s in the North West. The role of the team will include digging track joint bays and faults ensuring precision and compliance with safety standards.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist with excavator team lead to perform tasks such as trenching digging and backfilling
- Read and interpret drawings safe dig prints site layouts and project specifications
- Conduct daily equipment inspections to ensure functionality and report any maintenance needs
- Work closely with other teams and back office to ensure site safety and project efficiency
- Maintain a clean organized and hazard-free work area
- Work to a defined schedule of jobs per day
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations including wearing PPE and following procedures
- Keep accurate records of machine hours maintenance and site activity if required
Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience working on excavation teams on Utility Projects. (Preferred)
- Knowledge of construction site safety practices and procedures
- Physical fitness and ability to work in outdoor conditions and variable terrain
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
- Team-oriented and able to communicate effectively with site supervisors and crew
- Willingness to work overtime or weekends as needed
