CAREER DESCRIPTION

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIST II

Salary may be negotiable within the range listed above based on position requirements and successful candidates qualifications subject to appropriate authorization.

OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

This recruitment will establish an open eligible list that will be used to fill current and future Information Technologist II positions. The eligible list established may also be used to fill positions in similar and/or lower classifications throughout the County of Orange.

CLERK-RECORDER

The Clerk-Recorder Department is responsible for issuing handling and safeguarding a variety of public records including property records marriage licenses and birth and death certificates. They are also in charge of overseeing the Orange County Archives which is the main repository for historical property documents and vital records.

THE OPPORTUNITY
The Clerk-Recorder Information Technology Division is seeking a versatile and technically skilled Information Technologist II. This exciting opportunity involves a broad range of responsibilities including administration and maintenance of Active Directory and departmental SQL Server databases. The role also includes configuring and managing SAN NAS Windows systems and VMware-based virtual environments.

Additional duties involve supporting and enhancing in-house applications developed in Microsoft Visual Studio as well as maintaining key department systems such as Cornerstone ClerkDocs LandDocs RecorderWorks VitalsDocs and Extract. The position requires strong analytical skills to perform complex systems analysis troubleshoot technical issues and research effective solutions.

Collaboration with vendors internal teams and IT staff is essential for providing ongoing technical support. Other duties may be assigned as needed.


DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS & CORE COMPETENCIES
The ideal candidate will demonstrate three (3) years of experience performing IT systems analysis IT maintenance IT administration troubleshooting and administration of software. Programming experience is desirable but not required. A Bachelors Degree in Computer Science Information Technology Information Systems or in a related field is preferred but not required.

College level education or training directly related to the competencies and attributes required of the position may be substituted for up to one year of the required experience at the rate of three semester units or the equivalent equaling one month of experience and one hour of training equaling one hour of experience.

In addition the ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge and/or experience in the following core competencies:

RECRUITMENT PROCESS
