The Clinical Coordinator assists the Program Director in the administration of the program by developing structured clinical criteria that meets or exceeds the standards of the JRCERT and ARRT. Coordinates clinical schedules and rotations mentors clinical instructors and staff technologists and provides didactic instruction. Reviews clinical objectives to ensure they are understood by students integrated with academic course material and accurately applied in the clinical settings. The clinical coordinator monitors student progress in the clinical areas on a regular basis and intervenes when clinical objectives are not being met. This position assists in student recruitment and selection student counseling program development program evaluations and maintaining program accreditation. Helps to ensure that the students acquire cognitive psychomotor and affective skills needed to function as highly skilled radiographers upon graduation from the program. Maintains a current knowledge of the accreditation JRCERT STANDARDS and ASRT curriculum. Involvement in scholarly activities is required.
Requires a minimum of two years experience as a staff radiographer registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). One year of experience as an instructor in a JRCERT accredited program. Holds at a minimum a baccalaureate degree.
Additional Qualifications
Classroom teaching experience and/or ARRT certification at an advanced level is beneficial. Must demonstrate strong human relations and communication skills to effectively supervise instruct evaluate and advise students and to work cohesively with the program staff. Must consistently exhibit professionalism with patients staff and supervision to set an example for student behavior. Must be familiar with radiography exams done in the clinical areas and be able to operate the equipment. Must be proficient in curriculum development highly organized efficient and able to make independent decisions. Position Preferences: Completion of a Masters Degree in related field required within five years of start date. Must demonstrate proficient computer skills using Microsoft Word PowerPoint and Excel.
License or Certification
Registered as a Radiographer RT(R) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
