Your future role

As a Power Line Technician you will responsible for preventative & corrective maintenance on overhead catenary power systems and will assist in other electrical duties ie: TPSS TVS batteries Lighting general power equipment switches switch heaters etc.p

The Powerline Technician supports a 7-day week rail operation working rotating shifts on a continuous seven-day cycle performing all technical work related to TPS maintenance.

While interacting daily with co-workers external suppliers and management all activities will be performed in accordance with strict Health & Safety procedures as prescribed by legislation and the ALSTOM Health & Safety policies.

The hourly rate starts at$ 34.48and increases to$38.96 after completing the 9 month probationperiod.

Youll specifically be responsible for

• Complying with and enforcing EHSS policies and rules - To be a TPIP (Track power isolation permit) holder

• Performing inspections maintenance and complex troubleshooting repairs on traction power voltage 1500V and above

• To carry out the power isolation processes / tag out / lock out operation (TPSS OCS) for the rail system team and any designated third parties

• Reporting all activities accuratelyand on time in the Maintenance Management database

• Field Modifications implementation

• Recommending and implementing techniques and procedures that ensure maintenance to the PS&D System is conducted safely reliably efficiently

• Supervising the power isolation processes for the rail system team and any designated third parties

• Actively participating in safety meetings and Emergency Preparedness

All about you

• Educational background/formal training as Electrician or in electrical engineering combined with relevant experience

• Underground/OHHigh Voltage and/or Lineman experience preferred

• EHS champion and field expert

• Excellent problem-solving skills with strong computer skills

• License G mandatory - Other license (truck / trailer etc.) desirable
