Overview of the Position:
The Brook Hill Alliance (formerly PLUS) is a global leader in English language study and travel programs for international high school students. Our mission is to empower students to connect with the world through language and cultural exchange.
The Summer Academic Program Assistant is a part-time role that bridges both core elements of our program: academics and activities. This position involves teaching leading and supporting planning and logisticsall while engaging with students from around the globe. Ideal candidates will have a flexible morning schedule and thrive in a fast-paced multicultural environment.
The Program Assistant reports to the Academic Supervisor and Campus Operations Manager. This is an in-person hourly position not eligible for on-campus housing. Parking costs are not included.

Time Commitment:
- 8:00am10:00am on days when class is scheduled (typically 45 days per week Monday through Saturday)
- Available to substitute for teachers from 8:30-12:15 PM
- Occasional afternoon coverage (1:15pm5:00pm) may be available depending on enrollment and program needs
- Generally 1030 hours/week with more available depending on teacher absences and enrollment
- Full availability required Monday through Saturday for the dates of the program: July 5-August 5
- Unpaid time off may be approved in advance
Compensation:
$18.00 per hour
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
The following is expected of the Program Assistant:
Standard Expectations
You will be responsible for understanding adhering to and enforcing all Brook Hill/campus policies and procedures with tasks including but not limited to:
- Interacting with groups of international high school students and their group leaders in a professional enthusiastic and customer service-oriented manner
- Ensuring the safety of all participants and practicing appropriate emergency preparedness and response under Brook Hill protocols
- Assisting in duties other than the aforementioned and the following as assigned and as they arise
Primary Responsibilities Academic Support & Substitution
- Be on campus from 8:00am to 10:00 AM on class days to support classroom setup and coordination
- Be available to substitute from 10:00 AM to 12:30 if needed in the morning or 1:15 PM5:00 PM on rare afternoons.
- Teach lessons using Brook Hills curriculum and maintain a supportive well-managed classroom environment
- Take attendance follow procedures and complete administrative tasks as needed
- Communicate regularly with the Academic Supervisor
Secondary Responsibilities Program Engagement & Student Support
- Build rapport with international students and support their English development through informal engagement
- Assist with student activities arrival/departure logistics and navigating campus resources
- Support event coordination and general program operations
- Step in to help the management team as needed
Qualifications and Desired Skills:
- Authorization to work in the U.S.
- Must be 18 years or older
- High school diploma required; Bachelors degree strongly preferred
- Strong familiarity with Google Drive (including Google Sheets and Google Slides) and the Microsoft suite of products (including Microsoft Excel Word and PowerPoint) strongly preferred
- Teaching experience and experience working with youth strongly preferred
- Summer camp or student life experience a plus
