titre dagent ou dagente de justice vous offrez une vaste gamme de services de soutien administratif et vous tes le premier contact pour le public et les clients du systme judiciaire. Vous recevez largent vers aux tribunaux et vous entrez et rcuprez des donnes dans les systmes plus vous enregistrez et traitez les documents vous respectez les politiques et processus et vous maintenez les systmes de classement tout en travaillant en quipe.
Dans le cadre de vos fonctions vous pourriez devoir participer au tribunal pour lappel des causes laffirmation ou lassermentation des tmoins des interprtes et des traducteurs. La personne choisie excutera galement des fonctions quasi judiciaires titre de juge de paix en fonction de la loi sur les juges de paix (Justice of the Peace Act).
Pour occuper ce poste vous devez possder quatre annes dexprience connexe. Une combinaison pertinente de formation et dexprience sera considre. Une exprience dans un environnement juridique est considre comme un atout.
Pour occuper ce poste de lexprience et des aptitudes dans un environnement automatis et des comptences en matire de dactylographie de traitement de texte et de saisie de donnes sont requises. Vous devez avoir de lexprience en matire dadaptation aux technologies et aux procdures qui voluent rapidement.
Vous possdez dexcellentes comptences en matire de communication et de service la clientle et vous avez de lexprience avec des transactions en argent comptant et par carte de dbit ou de crdit.
Votre capacit de traiter efficacement avec le public dans un environnement stressant multiples facettes souvent dans des situations de conflit ou dlicates sera importante votre succs dans ce rle. Vos comptences en matire dorganisation et de gestion du temps et votre capacit mener plusieurs tches de front seront importantes. Le souci du dtail le respect de la confidentialit et la capacit de travailler sous pression et de respecter les chances font partie de vos comptences cls.
Une bonne connaissance du systme judiciaire et des services gouvernementaux pour effectuer les renvois est un atout. Le bilinguisme avec des comptences orales et crites en anglais et en franais est requis.

The Court Services Division of the Nova Scotia Department of Justice is dedicated to excellent service and the provision of fair and accessible administration of justice including court administration and security.
The Division provides administrative support to the courts listed: Nova Scotia Court of Appeal Supreme Court of Nova Scotia (including Family Division) Provincial Court Family Court Small Claims Court Probate Court and Bankruptcy Court. The courts act independently from the government to address individual cases.

As a Justice Officer you will provide a broad range of administrative support as well as being the first point of contact for the public and clients of the Court system. You will receive and balance monies paid into the court and enter and retrieve data from automated systems. You will also record and process documentation adhere to policies and processes and maintain filing systemsall while working as a team player.
In the role of Justice Officer you may be required to attend Court to call cases and swear or affirm witnesses interpreters and translators. The incumbent will also perform quasi-judicial duties as a Staff Justice of the Peace as assigned and appointed under the Justice of the Peace Act.
As the successful Justice Officer you will have four years related experience. A relevant combination of education and experience will be considered. Exposure to a legal environment is considered an asset.
For this position your experience and competency in a computerized environment with proficient and accurate keyboarding and data entry skills is required. You will have experience adapting to rapidly evolving technologies and procedures.
You will possess strong communication and customer service skills and have experience handling cash and debit/credit card payment transactions.
Your ability to deal effectively with the public in a multifaceted and stressful environment often in confrontational and sensitive situations will be important to your success in this role. The strong organizational time management and multi-tasking skills you have developed will be important. Your key skills include attention to detail confidentiality and the ability to work under pressure and deadlines.
Sound knowledge of the justice system and government services for referral are assets in this position. Bilingualism with oral and written skills in English and French is required.
We will assess the above qualifications using one or more of the following tools: written examination standardized tests oral presentations interview(s) and reference checks.
This is a bilingual term full-time vacancy based in Yarmouth with a projected end date of Septembr 4 2026. The status of the vacancy (term temp or casual) is dependent on the start date and the overall duration of the vacancy in accordance with the collective agreement.
