Job Description:
The Aerojet Rocketdyne Segment of L3Harris is seeking a Sr. Specialist Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) at our Camden AR location. This role is responsible for ensuring that delivered products and/or services conform to contractual and the Companys requirements. The SQE will work closely with their assigned suppliers on activities such as Early Supplier Engagements First Article Inspections Root Cause / Corrective Action Return to Green activities and audits. The SQE will also work with the assigned Contract Source Inspector and Site Receiving Inspection to ensure that product releases are timely and meet the expectations of the internal customers.
Essential Functions:
- Work onsite with Receiving Inspection onsite at regional Suppliers and with counterparts involved to resolve issues with purchase order product and end item data packages provided. Investigate and report supplier quality history as requested by quality engineering or Quality & Mission Assurance (Q&MA) management.
- Visit suppliers to review product & process issues. Interface with internal and external customers; i.e. engineering manufacturing supplier procurement to ensure requirements are met. Analyze supplier processes and planning to verify compliance with purchase orders engineering drawings processes specifications etc. Review and approval of supplier FAIs IAW AS9102.
- Be an active contributor in Early Supplier Engagements such as Post Award Reviews (PAR) Supplier Manufacturing Readiness Reviews and Control Plan activity. Perform as the leading contributor for PAR-Lites.
- Visit suppliers and perform investigation and root cause analysis to drive improvements into their processes. Be accountable for assigned suppliers performance and ensure suppliers are performing with a 100% quality rating.
- Create reporting documents to status Suppliers Performance Non-Conformance History impact to the Companys CoPQ Receiving Inspection Turnbacks and other metrics as assigned.
- Participates in managing the supplier ratings/scorecard system and overseeing periodic meetings.
- Perform periodic source inspections at assigned suppliers.
- Up to 50% local business travel within the state of Arkansas.
- Ability to obtain US security clearance.
Qualifications:
- Requires a Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Quality Engineering or other appropriate discipline and 6 years of directly related Quality Engineering experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related Quality Engineering lieu of a degree minimum of 10 years of prior related Quality Engineering experience.
- Possession of a valid drivers license. Employees who drive on company business to carry out job-related duties must possess a valid drivers license for the class of vehicle driven and meet automobile insurability requirements of the Company. Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience in manufacturing and/or inspections.
- Strong problem solving RCCA and investigation experience.
- Certified Quality Engineer strongly preferred.
- Ability to synthesize and analyze data from several sources and develop a plan to take action based upon the data.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of AS9100 Aerospace Quality Management System Standard and AS9102 First Article Inspection Standard.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within a close-knit team environment.
