Your future role

An opportunity has become available to join us as our Training & Operational Excellence Leadfor our Western Australian Services (Maintenance) this newlycreated role youll be responsible for leading the training and the operational excellence activities onsite based in Nowergup.

Well look to you for:

  • Training Delivery & Compliance: Manage daily technical training at Nowergup including inductions ensuring all activities comply with organisational and legal standards.
  • Trainer Development: Build internal trainer capabilities to deliver effective regulation-aligned training.
  • Training Management: Oversee training budgets maintain records in ANZ databases and manage special process qualifications.
  • Operational Support: Assist with recruitment and competency assessments in collaboration with operational managers.
  • Continuous Improvement & Auditing: Evaluate training needs conduct audits ensure compliance and share best practices across Alstom and externally.
  • Performance Tracking: Maintain accurateAlstom Performance System APSYSself-assessment scores quarterly in digital systems and verify results with supporting evidence.
  • Improvement Management: Capture and manage APSYS improvement actions centrally ensuring alignment with local and global targets.
  • Training Delivery: Coordinate APSYS-related training with support from the ANZ Operational Excellence team.
  • Process Optimization: Identify and lead local process improvements focusing on reducing waste and enhancing project outcomes.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Benchmark and share best practices across ALSTOM and external organisations staying updated on learning tools and technologies.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships engage and influence at all levels.
  • Advanced investigative and analytical skills to identify and implement best practice.
  • Strong leadership project management planning and organizational skills.
  • Experience in delivering training or mentoring with shop floor personnel.
  • Ability to quickly learn new digital tools and lead digital adoption across all levels of the organisation.
  • Experience in a similar role leading Training and ideally operational excellence/continuous improvement.
  • A background in Quality Engineering Trade (Electrical Mechanical or similar) is preferred but not essential.
