The American Lung Association has an excellent opportunity for a Manager Health Promotions. Working as a member of the Health Promotion & Education department you will join an outstanding group of professionals dedicated to our mission: to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease through research education and advocacy.
The person in this role will manage implement and evaluate lung health programs in a multi-state territory. This is a grant-funded position.
Location: The position is located at the American Lung Associations Greenwood Village CO office and will be a hybrid of in-person and virtual work.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee implementation of the statewide programs in Colorado with opportunity to share responsibilities in other states/territories.
- Recruit sites serving low-income parents to provide education about secondhand smoke and aerosol (e-cigarettes) and benefits of smoke-free/aerosol-free policies and places.
- Provide staff training virtually or in person and provide ongoing support to each site.
- Conduct direct outreach to parents/caregivers including low-income and disproportionately- impacted communities.
- Monitor grant web site activity and updates.
- Collaborate with evaluators to analyze and compile the evaluation and prepare final program report.
- Monitor and work with finance to approve monthly invoices.
- Negotiate annual contract renewal with the Colorado State Department of Public Health and Environment.
- Ensure all deliverables are met on time and within budget.
- Support other tobacco cessation and prevention efforts signatures programs and other health promotions initiatives.
- Supervise grant-funded staff within the Health Promotions team.
- Identify and source funding opportunities that will support program and mission efforts.
- Research prospect and submit appropriate funding opportunities.
- Collaborate with local team/staff to support key organizational initiatives participate in special events and serve on local regional or national workgroups and committees as requested.
- Develop and submit timely reports as required by the association and funding sources including but not limited to weekly updates monthly management reports grant reports and program metrics reports.
- Represent the association as a member of community civic and/or health coalitions and organizations related to the ALAs mission.
- Build maintain and cultivate relationships with funders facilitators and community partners to encourage program delivery sustainability and growth across Colorado including ALA signature programs where applicable.
- Select and participate in local state and national seminars and courses designed to increase skills and knowledge related to job requirements.
- Complete other activities and duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in public health or related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in public health community relations public policy or related field.
- Experience in coalition or community building developing and implementing community awareness education and programs specifically related to areas of public health.
- Experience in the management implementation and evaluation of programs.
- Must be a self-starter with excellent communication skills both written and oral.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred.
- Positive attitude with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Able to work with minimum direct supervision make decisions and take initiative.
- Proven ability to cultivate and steward relationships across a diverse population.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Must have a valid Drivers license and your own reliable transportation with the ability to travel within assigned area 10-25% of the time for meetings and conferences as well as the flexibility to work irregular hours including evenings and weekends with some overnights required.
- Required to travel statewide to provide technical assistance meetings and conferences as required by assigned grants.
- Ability to lift approximately 25 lbs.

Compensation: Exact compensation may vary based on skills experience and location. The target hiring range for this position is between $62000 and $63000 per annum.
