Job Description:
As a Specialist Power Supply Design Engineer you will have primary engineering responsibility for electrical design tasks including requirements analysis specification generation interface definition component selection circuit simulation schematic capture and board layout for low voltage switching power supply solutions. You will design power supply circuitry utilizing Power Factor Correction Forward Boost Buck and SEPIC topologies with output power ranges of 10W - 150W. You will also engage in all phases of product development including concept architecture design and test.
L3Harris Agile Development Group specializes in developing disruptive next-generation technologies for advanced Unmanned Air Systems (UAS / UAV) advanced radar systems next-generation weapon systems and other RF sensor technologies using small company agility and big company experience.
Essential Functions:
Take responsibility for electrical design tasks including requirements analysis specification generation interface definition component selection circuit simulation schematic capture and board layout
Provide technical responsibility for schedule cost at the board or subsystem level
Support power designs for all circuit card assemblies (Digital Power RF misc. CCAs)
Design and specify magnetic components
Electrical design integration at the board or subsystem level
Simulate breadboard test and troubleshoot analog and power conversion circuits and subsystems
Identify high risk circuits functions to simulate and prototype/breadboard before creation of full design
Develop test plans and procedures for power subsystems and all relevant documentation for design description and requirements
Participate and present in peer reviews PDRs CDRs and other required design reviews
Participate in risk assessment and develop mitigation strategies
Interface with interdisciplinary design teams and reviews
Learn and follow company processes for product development configuration management purchasing etc.
Qualifications:
Ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance
Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience or a Graduate Degree in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 2 years of prior related lieu of a degree minimum of 8 years of prior related electrical engineering power design experience.
2 years of experience with the main power circuit design topologies (buck boost push-pull forward fly back current mode Cuk converters etc.)
