Job Description
As a Supply Chain Manager I in the Global Logistics (GL) - Imports (Ocean) team at Amazon youll play a crucial role in building global supply chain products at scale. Youll work with the Global Ocean Operations team to manage land-side operations for freight moving from global manufacturing hubs into Amazons international marketplaces. This position offers an opportunity to drive Amazons expansion into new countries create new logistics benchmarks and spearhead disruptive innovation in global supply chain management.
Key job responsibilities
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) guidelines and new processes for ocean freight operations
- Manage land-side performance metrics regularly reviewing and updating as needed
- Create and execute risk management strategies for seasonal peak volumes
- Identify at-risk operations and develop proactive contingency protocols
- Support ocean carrier and terminal-related inquiries from destination operations partner teams
- Engage with ocean carriers and terminals to resolve land-side port/terminal issues
- Analyze data using Excel Tableau SQL or other data visualization tools to inform decision-making
- Collaborate with multiple stakeholders across different programs to drive supply chain initiatives
A day in the life
Your day typically begins with reviewing key performance indicators for land-side operations followed by participating in team meetings to align on ongoing projects and address potential challenges. Throughout the day youll spend time analyzing data to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement while also engaging with ocean carriers to resolve any immediate operational issues such as port congestion. You might dedicate part of your afternoon to developing new SOPs for managing peak season volumes or collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement risk management strategies. Your day often concludes with strategic planning activities such as preparing presentations on supply chain innovations for senior leadership or reviewing progress on ongoing initiatives.

- 2 years of program or project management experience
- 1 years of supply chain experience
- Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g. pivot tables & charts multiple criteria lookups nested logical/IF formulas data cleansing array formulas etc.)
- Knowledge of SQL
- 1 years of experience working with ocean terminals ports or destination operations
- 3 years of supply chain experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $57800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $106100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
