Job Description

Quantity Surveyor

OCU Group a leading UK provider of utilities telecommunications and energy transition services. With a strong focus on innovation and sustainability we deliver complex infrastructure projects that shape the future of energy and connectivity.

Were looking for a skilled Quantity Surveyor to primarily work on a large framework delivering civil tasks on the electrical network the successful candidate will be responsible for all commercial matters including agreement of rates with client and supply chain assisting the operational team in quoting works auditing sub-contractor claims and client invoicing.

Regular dialogue with operational team members the client and the supply chain is required and the ability to build positive working relationships with all parties is key for this role.

This is a great opportunity to work within a dedicated operational team with full autonomy and responsibility for delivery of diverse and varied framework.

This is a permanent role and is based out of our Greenwich office. Travel to site and client offices in the Southeast will be required and hybrid working is possible.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate quotes are returned within agreed timescales.
  • Auditing of subcontractor claims building positive and open relationships.
  • Ownership of dispute resolution strategies.
  • Raising invoices and applications and seeing through to payment.

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in Utility Infrastructure upgrade and project works especially power would be preferred.
  • Ability to negotiate and influence decisions.
  • IT literate and confident user of work management software. Ideally experienced in implementing collaborative working solutions.
  • Can formulate present and manage large volumes of contract variations and claims through to client agreement.
  • Strong organisational skills with ability to prioritise and plan work to meet deadlines.
  • Formal qualification ideally at degree level or above in Quantity Surveying or a relevant commercial/construction subject.
  • A member of or working towards an appropriate professional qualification/membership (RICS/CIOB).
  • Full UK Driving License.
