Job Description:
We are seeking a Junior SQL Database Administrator with 3 5 years of recent and relevant SQL Server experience. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in SQL development and be eager to grow in database administration. You will work closely with senior DBAs developers and other IT professionals to support maintain and optimize our SQL database environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer monitor and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases.
- Perform regular database maintenance backups recovery and tuning.
- Assist with performance monitoring query optimization and indexing strategies.
- Collaborate with development teams to deploy and manage database objects and procedures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues promptly.
- Maintain database security including roles permissions and access controls.
- Support development staging and production environments.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems or a related field.
- 3 5 years of experience as a SQL Server DBA (SQL Server 2016 preferred).
- Hands-on experience with SQL development (stored procedures views triggers etc.).
- Knowledge of database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Coachable with a strong willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
Nice to Have:
- Exposure to cloud database platforms (e.g. Azure SQL AWS RDS).
- Experience with automation or scripting (PowerShell T-SQL etc.).
- Understanding of high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) concepts.
