Job Summary:
This role is for a Certified Surgical Technician to provide surgical support in a short-term acute care hospital. The position requires competency in orthopedic general plastic and ophthalmologic (cataract) surgeries with experience in urology ENT and podiatry preferred. The technician will float between units and will be required to work weekends and be on-call one weeknight per week and one weekend per month.

Responsibilities:
- Providing surgical support across various surgical specialties (Orthopedics General Surgery Plastics Ophthalmology GYN Urology ENT Podiatry).
- Preparing surgical instruments and equipment.
- Assisting the surgical team during procedures.
- Maintaining a sterile surgical field.
- Following established safety protocols and infection control procedures.
- Assisting with patient positioning and transfer.
- Cleaning and sterilizing surgical instruments and equipment.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Working collaboratively with the surgical team.
- Responding to on-call requests as scheduled.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Certification as a Surgical Technician.
- Competency in orthopedic general plastic and ophthalmologic (cataract) surgeries.
- Current BLS certification.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience in urology ENT and podiatry surgeries.
Special Considerations:
- On-call requirement: one weeknight per week and one weekend per month.
- Weekend work required when on-call.
- Floating between units.
- 1:1 patient ratio.
- 48-hour work blocks are not approved.
- Short-term acute care hospital setting.
Scheduling:
- Schedule is not specified but includes weekends and on-call shifts.
