- Perform on-site inspections of accident scenes and vehicles.
- Conduct Black box data acquisition for passenger vehicles and heavy trucks.
- Perform engineering analysis of traffic accidents involving cars trucks tractor-trailers motorcycles pedestrians and other vehicles.
- Investigate mechanical systems failures including researching mechanical systems design and operation. Perform vehicle dynamics research.
- Provide technical findings analysis and conclusions verbally and in writing.
- Travel for client meetings field work marketing and business development.
- Maintain communication with attorney and adjuster clients and project teams on status and scope of assigned projects.
- Research write and publish technical reports and peer-reviewed publications on topics relevant to accident reconstruction and forensic engineering.
- Consult with attorneys and insurance adjusters on matters in litigation or pre-litigation. After gaining experience testify as an expert witness in depositions and trials.
- Maintain technical and professional knowledge related to the experts practice area through attending continuing education courses and workshops attending industry/practice related seminars reviewing relevant scientific and professional publications and participating in professional organizations and societies.
- Continuously meet or exceed assigned performance metrics and goals.
Qualifications :
- B.S. in Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
- Experience in vehicle accident reconstruction is preferred.
- Coursework and practical experience in accident investigation analysis reconstruction report preparation and testimony are preferred.
- Practical vehicle mechanical experience either professionally through course work or recreation.
- ACTAR certification is preferred.
- Licensure as a professional engineer is preferred. Passing the FE exam is required for applicants with an engineering degree.
- Willingness and ability to obtain P.E. licensure and ACTAR certification.
- Experience in data acquisition systems for vehicle testing is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable transportation using a pickup truck or SUV for travel to different regions within Florida and willingness to fly with equipment for inspections.
Physical and Mental Job Qualifications
- Ability to travel by driving or flying.
- Ability to maneuver in and around an accident site.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to drive their personal vehicle to inspection locations.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment as required by the work site.

A reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role is $83000 - $112000. Any offered salary range is based on a wide array of factors including but not limited to skillset experience training location scope of role management responsibility etc.
