Job Description

As a dedicated Legal Manager to Orient Express Sailing Yachts (sailing yachts activity) you will provide legal support across all departments (Finance Sales Operations etc.) of the Orient Express Sailing Yachts teams with responsibilities ranging from contract negotiation and governance to intellectual property and maritime law compliance.

The objective of the role is to ensure legal and regulatory compliance of their activities. You will report directly to the Secretary General and work closely with the legal departments of Orient Express and Accor Luxury & Lifestyle.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Governance and legal secretariat: you advise on good governance practices ensuring compliance with ethical legal standards and data protection obligations. You participate in establishing transparent processes within the board of directors and executive committees. You also handle the legal secretariat of the companies of the Group.
  • Contracts: You draft and negotiate various contracts related to the activities of the Orient Express Sailing Yachts entity including sales contracts renovation and design contracts partnership contracts service contracts and all intellectual property contracts. You also ensures the proper organization and centralization of contracts and legal documentation using the groups tools to create an accessible structured and secure database.
  • Cross-functional legal support: You provide strategic legal advice to management and various departments (Finance Sales Operations etc.). You supervise the implementation and compliance with internal policies particularly in corporate law financing law insurance and compliance.
  • Management of litigation and pre-litigation: You manage litigation and pre-litigation following and managing cases in collaboration with external lawyers when necessary.
  • Intellectual property: You implement the protection of the entitys intangible assets notably through prior searches and monitoring of pre-litigation and litigation in conjunction with industrial property advisors.
  • Maritime law: You monitor international maritime law compliance in cooperation with external advisors. You also ensure the legal interface with local jurisdictions and monitors compliance with regulations affecting ship operations.
  • GDPR: You collaborate with teams and advisors on various GDPR topics.

This description is not exhaustive and may evolve based on the strategic priorities of the entity and ongoing projects. The position requires significant versatility and the capacity to engage in a variety of topics.

 


Qualifications :

  • Education: Masters degree in law Law School diploma or equivalent training with a specialization in business law contract law and knowledge of the tourism sector.
  • Languages: fluent in French and English both spoken and written.
  • Experience: A minimum of 4 years of experience as a lawyer or legal counsel in an international environment. Experience in the maritime cruise and/or luxury hospitality sector is a plus.
  • Personal qualities: Rigor analytical skills ability to manage complex and varied situations diplomacy agility autonomy intellectual curiosity sense of priorities spirit of collaboration and good communication skills.
