Job Description
Overnight Cook (Cook 3)
Do you have an appetite for career progression and ready to take your culinary skills to a world-class platform Take your career to a whole new level with Fairmont Vancouver Airport and join our kitchen team.
What you will be doing:
- Consistently offer professional engaging and proactive service while supporting fellow colleagues on our overnight graveyard shift
- Prepare cook and service all food items for a la carte and/or buffet menus according to hotel recipes and standards
- Bake-off of breakfast pastries and general mis en place
- Able to interpret a BEO and will ask superior for guidance
- Strong knowledge of quantities needed for service and upcoming volumes
- Able to write a thorough and complete prep list
- Responding to guest requests and concerns in a personal prompt and courteous manner
- Have full knowledge of all menu items daily features and promotions
- Follow kitchen policies procedures and service standards
- Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of all work areas utensils and equipment
- Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
- Participating in staff meetings and training
- Maintaining and ordering stocks and supplies
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications :
Your experience and skills include:
- Previous kitchen experience an asset
- Creative and passionate about food and customer service
- Able to work in a high-pressure environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; a team player
- A valid BC Food Safe certification
Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):
- Constant standing and walking throughout shift
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs
- Occasional kneeling pushing pulling
- Occasional ascending or descending ladders stairs and ramps
Additional Information :
Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
