Job Description
Reports To: Kitchen Manager / School Administration
Job Type: Part-Time
Working Hours: 7:00 AM 12:30 PM
Start Date: 08/06/2025
Job Summary:
We are looking for a reliable and caring individual to join our kitchen team at our K5 elementary school. This team member will play a vital role in preparing serving and cleaning up nutritious meals for our students. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in creating a safe clean and welcoming dining experience for children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with daily meal preparation according to menu and safety standards
- Set up serving areas and ensure proper food presentation
- Serve meals to students in a courteous and efficient manner
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment utensils and work areas
- Help with dishwashing and garbage disposal
- Support restocking and organizing food supplies
- Follow food safety and sanitation procedures at all times
- Collaborate with the kitchen team and respond to any immediate needs during meal service
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous food service or kitchen experience is a plus but not required
- Willingness to learn and participate in on-site training
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for extended periods
- Strong teamwork time management and communication skills
- Must pass background check and meet district/school employment requirements
