Job Description

Basic Function

The Machinery Turnaround Coordinator is responsible for the planning and execution of all machinery scope for all site turnaround events. Excellence in job planning and execution attention to task detail and sequencing communications with production maintenance and supporting disciplines and strong interface with technical and procurement support groups are keys to success.

Job Duties

  • Work with TA scope submitters to develop early estimates for machinery scope.
  • Plan and estimate all machinery work for the TA working with other craft lines and technical groups as needed. Estimate to include expected post-TA repairs and replacement parts purchases. Define and optimize schedule with additional focus on any critical path work.
  • Oversee all parts planning required for machinery scope including both purchasing new and providing assurance for storehouse parts.
  • Develop plans to manage any outside shop work during execution including transportation assurance and schedule.
  • Work with general and machinery contractors to develop TA execution strategy; review and approve contractor staffing plan. Ensure contractor leadership and crafts committed to the event are high quality. Review and approve contractors safety plan.
  • Ensure any special tooling required to execute the workscope is coordinated and delivered.
  • Collaborate with technical support disciplines to develop the overall quality control plan including determination of any key witness and buy-off points.
  • Plan and lead optimization and tabletop workshops for any critical or near-critical path machinery scope.
  • Work with in-house Maintenance organization to develop event execution organization for coordination resources and machinist support.
  • Prioritize and resolve issues as they arise including parts fits/clearances unplanned damage etc. ensuring our contract partners remain productive and work remains on schedule.
  • Witness and buy off the key identified job activities to ensure quality of work; ensure technical assurance personnel are engaged and providing timely support.
  • Coordinate the commissioning of equipment worked during event support start-up coverage for all units.
  • Coordinate post-TA repairs return of parts to storehouse.
  • Ensure proper preservation and storage of all spares.

Experience

A minimum of 8 years of refinery experience in mechanical/machinery discipline is required. At least 3 years experience in planning & field coordination of machinery work strongly desired; equivalent experience in a mechanical/machinery technical support role or supervisory role will be considered.

Education Level

A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Required Skills

Broad understanding of refinery operations maintenance construction and turnarounds. Advanced knowledge of rotating equipment maintenance and operations including general purpose equipment and advanced complex turbomachinery. Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment and deliver to required deadlines. Ability to work additional hours as required to support Turnaround events particularly during turnaround event execution. Ability to effectively communicate with and influence others.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility

Contract personnel in TA department; varies with site workload (up to 15 directs).

Work Conditions

Office based with up to 5% travel by land and air required. Petroleum refinery warehouse/plant environment including but not limited to chemicals pressure vessels tanks rotating equipment loud noise and vibrations. Subject to all temperatures weather and varying road conditions.

Salary Range: The salary range includes the minimum midpoint and maximum base salary values. A candidates offer can vary depending on differentiating factors including but not limited to education training or experience.

This position has a salary minimum of$83900.00 and maximum of $145900.00.
