Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse
Location: Cushing Oklahoma
Schedule: Night shift potential 36/48 rotation as needed by the facility
Guaranteed Hours: 36/week
Weekly Gross Pay: $2875.00
Job Overview:
We are hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a full-time contract assignment in a correctional facility located in Cushing Oklahoma. This role involves performing basic nursing duties medication administration and supporting physician-led care in a secure setting. Candidates must be able to work flexible schedules including rotating shifts and meet facility clearance requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Administer medications and operate pill call
- Assist physicians during sick calls exams and treatments
- Perform technical/clinical procedures within the LPN scope of practice
- Maintain inventory and control of medications and medical supplies
- Document all nursing activities and maintain accurate medical records
- Respond to emergencies and provide basic emergency medical care
- Monitor patient health status and report significant changes
- Assist with audits reporting and compliance with pharmacy regulations
- Escort inmates/residents to and from medical treatment areas
- Observe document and report inmate behavior to ensure safety and care continuity
- Support NCCHC/ACA/JCAHO accreditation and facility compliance efforts
Requirements:
- Graduate from an accredited LPN program
- Active unrestricted LPN license in California
- Must have a valid Social Security card and drivers license for facility clearance
- Must reside 70 miles away from the facility
- Must be able to start within 2 weeks
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Valid drivers license required
- Must have open availability including weekends and holidays
- No RTO (Requested Time Off) allowed during the assignment
Preferred:
- Experience in correctional or institutional healthcare settings
- Familiarity with emergency medical procedures and behavioral management
- Active AHA BLS certification
